What is DockSolo?
DockSolo is a macOS menu bar utility that pins the system Dock to a single screen in multi-monitor setups. It prevents the Dock from jumping to another display when your cursor reaches the bottom edge of an unintended screen.
Summary
DockSolo collects zero data. No personal information ever leaves your Mac. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry.
Information stored locally
DockSolo stores only the minimum settings required to function:
- The identifier of the screen you chose to pin the Dock to (a system-generated UUID, not tied to your identity)
- Your enabled / disabled state and "Launch at login" preference
- Your license key, kept in the system Keychain after purchase
These preferences are kept in standard UserDefaults inside the app on your Mac. They never leave your device and are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Accessibility permission
DockSolo requires macOS Accessibility permission to observe mouse-move events system-wide via a CGEventTap. This is necessary to detect when the cursor enters the trigger zone at the bottom of a non-pinned screen so the Dock can be kept in place.
DockSolo only reads the cursor's coordinates. It does not record keystrokes, screen contents, clipboard, microphone, camera, or any other input. Cursor coordinates are processed in memory and are never written to disk or transmitted off the device.
Where your data lives
All settings live on your Mac. DockSolo makes no network requests to any backend operated by us, with one exception: license activation. When you enter your license key, the App contacts our payment processor (Polar) once to validate it. After that, no further network requests are made.
Payment processor
DockSolo is sold through Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar handles your payment information, invoicing, and VAT compliance; we never see your billing details. See Polar's Privacy Policy for how they process payment data.
DockSolo does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking SDK, or crash-reporting service.
Children's privacy
DockSolo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. Because no data is collected at all, no special handling is required.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling DockSolo removes all settings stored on your Mac. You can also revoke the Accessibility permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility. To request deletion of your purchase record on Polar's side, contact al@obsidian-it.be.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
